Images taken from Cramond beach, North Queensferry, and Elie across the East Coast of Scotland. Focusing on compositions created by materials being washed up there, which have a spontaneous, tactile quality, my inspiration draws from these elements.
A selection of drawings based on my initial images, intent on mark-making to create similarly spontaneous, ‘unintentional’ compositions. Abstracting in this way has allowed me to focus on forms and textures, rather than content. My jewellery is developed from these, exploiting the qualities of the compositions in my initial source material.
